In addition to this list of fascinating topics, I am developing a new blog over at Skartz. Directed more toward art musings and topics, my goal is to eventually move the entire blog over to that address.
Please stop by and leave a comment. This page will remain for at least another month. So many ideas, so little time!
Stay in touch, and visit often!!
Neither rain, nor snow, nor dark of night could keep us from our appointed Opening Reception at Prairie Winds Art Center in Grand Island, Ne. Global warming showed up with freezing temps and snow on the 2nd of May. Watch out for that glacier.
Harry Adams, wood lathe artist extraordinaire, Dawn Hesnault, gorgeous glass and jewelry designer and I are featured artists this month at Prairie Winds. The exhibit is lovely in this beautiful old building.
This is the collaborative piece we are auctioning off. Proceeds will go to Fisher House. Harry turned the vase, I added a landscape and Dawn finished it with glass "water" pouring out the front. Opening bid is $200, bids will be taken until Friday, May 30th at noon. Call Prairie Winds if you're interested.
The evening was lovely. Cheers to Sis for sharing morning coffee with me, to Mavis for your Friday phone dates, and to the Bun for your complete and total Bun-ness.
The show wraps up at noon on Friday May 30th. Hurry, the clock's ticking!!
It's not the Taj Mahal, but it's home, all clean and paint-ey smelling. After twice as much time as expected, I'm all moved in and ready to roll. That is, if I can find things! Right now I'm so organized it hurts. (No way am I showing you the "before" pics.) I keep throwing garbage on the floor because the trash can has been moved to a "better" place. I've got so much light now I'll need curtains to keep from bothering the neighbors.
It's a goooood thing. Thanks to my good friends, and especially my dear HH for helping me stay the course despite the disagreements with my tape measure. And three lumber yards. And one hardware store, multiple times.
Oh, and you're all invited to an exhibit in which I'll be participating, "3-Dimensions" at Prairie Winds Art Center in Grand Island, Ne. Opening reception is from 5:30 - 8:30 pm on Friday, May 2nd. We've collaborated on some artwork that'll be auctioned off to the highest bidder, proceeds to go to Fisher House. Very Cool!
