Landscapes in Oils and Pastels

I've selected one square mile north of where I live to use as inspiration for a new collection of paintings.  It seemed interesting that the paintings be square as well.  The point is to see more clearly what we so often overlook.  This collection will be shown for the first time at The Burkholder Project in Lincoln Ne. during the month of March, 2010.

2010 Class Schedule

Learning about art should be an enjoyable experience.  I work hard at having fun while sharing the skills I've developed over the years.  My goal is to give my students useful information while allowing for experimentation and personal development.  These classes are great for beginners and for those with some experience.

Generally, my workshops begin with a demonstration, so students sit back and relax while I sweat!  I share the why's and hows of making decisions regarding color, value, depth and texture. The next step is for students to work at their easels, with me sharing encouragement and support.  An enjoyable show-and-tell at the end wraps up an interesting, fun experience.
