Patty, as she is known to her friends,

works out of her home studio. Most days are spent staring out the window, wondering about shapes, shadows, colors and atmosphere, and how those enigmatic elements weave themselves into what we believe we see.

"More than painting scenes of nature and its seasons, I am dealing with regeneration using the oceanic movement of grasses stained by shadows shifting smoothly over and under the surface.  These are touchstones for life and death, birth and aging, failure and triumph."



After graduating from Kearney State College with a degree in Fine Art, she spent the next few decades figuring out how to paint. The results:

Patty continues her education by taking workshops with esteemed artists such as Hal Holoun, Casey Klahn, Doug Dawson and others.

She also spent several years providing an art experience to elementary school students.

She is a member of the American Women Artists, the American Impressionist Society, and past president of the Association of Nebraska Art Clubs.
