I admire the way the breeze moves across grass and seed heads, creating ocean movements that have been here since long before us.  Shadows and roots weave themselves together to hold the pastures firmly to the earth.

This collection is my exploration of this experience.  Making marks using warm and cool colors generate swells of movement, tucking and weaving to develop a subtle movement across the canvas.  The understated strength of color and gesture remind us of those moments when cicadas sing and air currents cool our skin.

water reflections
warm grasses at water's edge
trees blowing in the wind
hay bales in a golden field
rich green fields after a rain
hay bales on a grassy ridge
flowers in a grassy field
sunlight, snow shadows, golden grasses
golden light on a cool blue field of grasses and flowers
pink clouds reflected in still water
tender green leaves on young trees in late season snow
tangle of trees behind a plum thicket
seed heads melting into a meadow
single sparrow on a tangle of sticks and twigs
warm sunlight on bare trees in spring
line of trees being tossed by a breeze
golden field with barren trees
blue shadows cross a meadow of gold
tangled trees within a plum thicket
multi colored grasses recede into rich green trees
Row of scraggly trees and hay bales in field with hills in distance.
grey and violet trees guard a lonely road
